Maintenance & Care Information

The Specifics

Below you will find instructions on how to maintain and care for your specific door system. Following the Euro-Wall maintenance instructions and maintenance schedule will ensure the longevity of your door system's appearance and operational functionality. For questions about our maintenance policy/instructions, please contact us anytime.

All Systems Maintenance & Care

Panel Protective Film

Remove all protective film from panels, frames, and any other metal extrusion within 30 days of job delivery. Failure to do so could cause finish damage, voiding the product warranty.

NOTE: All Interior wood-clad veneer products should be properly finished or sealed within 72 hours of delivery or stored in a climate-controlled space until they can be properly finished or sealed.

Frequency
Regular maintenance is required for all hardware, even stainless steel, to keep the manufacturer’s warranty in place. Failure to provide proof of maintenance will void any warranty.

Carry out maintenance procedures with the following minimum recommendations:

1. General environments - every 3 months

2. Marine, industrial environments, within 5 miles of a body of water and / or a pool area - every month.

Sliding Door Systems

Handles and Hardware
Wipe down the visible surfaces with warm, soapy water on a soft cloth and then rinse off by wiping with a clean, damp cloth. Spray a thin film of light machine oil or one of the corrosion preventative sprays such as Boeshield T-9, CRC Marine 66®, Innox®, or CorrisionX®. Be careful to avoid overspray and be sure to wipe down any overspray that does occur.

Water Management
All weep holes and drainage points should be thoroughly flushed to confirm proper water flow and prevent buildup that may obstruct drainage.
If your sill track comes with a Euro-Wall water management configuration, ensure that all drainage points and relief exits are free and clear of debris.

Sill Track and Wheels
Wipe all contaminants clear from sill track surfaces with a damp cloth and mild detergent, dry with a clean soft cloth. Using a spray machine, oil or one of the corrosion preventative sprays (such as Boeshield T-9, CRC Marine 66®, Innox®, or CorrosionX®), spray underneath the panels and into the wheel assembly. Operate the door across the sill track to ensure the track receives lubrication / anti-corrosion spray from the wheels. Repeat as necessary until the wheels and the track are properly covered. Wipe down any overspray.

Folding Door Systems, Casement Windows

Hinges
Wipe down the visible surfaces with warm, soapy water on a soft cloth and then rinse off by wiping with a clean, damp cloth.

Locks and Hardware

Wipe down the visible surfaces with warm, soapy water on a soft cloth and then rinse off by wiping with a clean, damp cloth. Spray a thin film of light machine oil or one of the corrosion preventative sprays such as Boeshield T-9, CRC Marine 66®, Innox®, or CorrisionX®. Be careful to avoid getting these compounds on wood or fiberglass, or jambs, as they may cause staining. Be sure to wipe down any overspray.

Track and Bearings

Apply white petroleum jelly (Vaseline) or equivalent to the inner lip of each side of the head track with a clean cloth. Distribute lubricant evenly along the track. Ensure wheels and bearings receive sufficient lubricant. Wipe all contaminants from track surfaces with a damp cloth and mild detergent, and clean surfaces with a clean soft cloth. Apply thin film for systems installed in severe environments by wiping surfaces of track with anti-corrosive substance, such as Boeshield T-9, CRC Marine 66®, Innox® or CorrosionX®.

Hangers, Pivots and Brackets
Before applying an anti-corrosive substance, wipe exposed surfaces with a clean, soft cloth soaked in warm soapy water; then rinse, clean, and dry. Spray thin film to hangers, pivots, and brackets with anti-corrosive substance, such as Boeshield T-9, CRC Marine 66®, Innox®, or CorrosionX®.

Pivot Door Systems

Hinges
Wipe down the visible surfaces with warm, soapy water on a soft cloth and then rinse off by wiping with a clean, damp cloth.
